GLOBAL STARS CELEBRATE CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS IN AFRICA

The #INFORAFRICA Festival will take place from May 25 to June 6, 2020 in a multi-hour streamed and televised event. High profile celebrities from around the continent are joining forces to spread official health messages beyond African capitals. They include musician Awilo Longomba, comedian Eddie Kadi, activist, author, former CNN anchor Isha Sesay, Miss Universe Ghana Akpene Hoggar, musicians Afro B, Dj Spinall and Mohombi, and soccer players Djibril Cisse and Yannick Bolasie.
The Festival will feature artists, influencers, institutions, entrepreneurs, innovators and thinkers, and include live discussions, performances, creative sessions panels and interviews, as well as showcase local solutions and homegrown health innovations to tackle the virus in Africa.
A Festival of creativity and innovation
The INFORAFRICA Festival will kick off on May 25, Africa Day, the annual commemoration of the foundation of the African Union. It will bring together Africans from the continent and the diaspora through culture and art, highlighting the resilience of the continent, particularly the dedication of its health workers and the strength of its citizens. It will also bring together NGOs, entrepreneurs and business leaders, mobilising them to lend their support and resources in the fight against the pandemic on the continent.
Exclusive Programming
The #INFORAFRICA will feature global stars and performers including the producers DJ Spinall and DJ Juls, the international soccer players Djibril Cisse, Yannick Bolasie, Youssouf Mulumbu and Tresor Lualua, Grammy award winner Mohombi, singer Innoss’b, Nollywood actor Onuchukwu Michael Okpokwu, singer and entrepreneur Akeju, among hundred other artists and influencers.
Together, they will promote official health messages and barrier measures, and help raise funds to support the most vulnerable populations on the continent.
A series of panel sessions will also be conducted in English, French and Portuguese across the 10 days of the #Festival, focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, healthcare, economy and development, to outline the future of Africa post COVID.
