Media Coverage:
Aequitas Global delivered a communications strategy for the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The Dialogue is the first forum for political dialogue to bring together countries affected by conflict and fragility, development partners, and civil society.
Working alongside the 19 most conflict affected countries including Sierra Leone, DRC, Pakistan and Afghanistan, to rebrand the Dialogue, we developed the central concept and key messages, and oversaw global events for the New Deal over five years in New York, Washington, Nairobi and Stockholm. We successfully increased the recognition of the work of the Dialogue in fostering peace in fragile states amongst world leaders and secured media coverage with the Financial Times, the Guardian and Reuters. We were PR Week Global Award finalists for this work.
Media Coverage:
Aequitas Global worked with the Government of Bayelsa State to launch the Bayelsa State Oil and Environmental Commission. The Commission was established to investigate the behaviour of multinational oil companies operating in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
Bayelsa is the victim of oil spills every year and as a result is suffering from the continued effects of oil on land and in water. But no one is talking about it.
Aequitas Global runs the Secretariat for the Commission, managing the research programme, events and international media for the Commission.
Aequitas Global has secured extensive media coverage for the Commission in a number of tier-one outlets including BBC, the Guardian, Bloomberg, CNN and the Economist.
