Location: Since March 2020 Aequitas Global operates as a fully remote business, with members of the team working from home and convening for quarterly all-staff days. 

The role may involve some national or international travel – this has been infrequent through the pandemic but may increase in 2022 and beyond. 

Annual salary: £48-58k based on experience 

Job purpose

As a Senior Consultant you are primarily responsible for the management of client teams, delivery of client work plans and the identification and growth of new business opportunities. 

Job Criteria

Client Management 

Minimum of 5 years’ agency experience 

Demonstrable media experience – Tier 1 and specialist media delivery, in-depth understanding of how the media works, proven experience of delivering media coverage, journalist contacts at Tier 1 and specialist media

Account Director level experience – development of client strategies and ability to manage, develop and lead the internal team

Working with complex issues and accounts – ideally some commercial experience, plus public policy related issues and in an international context (e.g. with clients operating internationally)

Confident handling of clients, working internationally and across a range of areas – e.g. politics, commercial, international development, philanthropy

Digital strategy experience and/or implementation desirable 

Crisis Communications experience desirable 

Business Growth

Proven experience of identifying, managing and securing new business opportunities

Proven experience of growing a client account 

Evidence of a network of contacts for new business and ability to undertake new business activity – pitch experience (success), proposal development, tender response

Your Core Skills

An entrepreneurial spirit and a can-do attitude 

Excellent client relationship management skills

Confident and experienced in media handling, from strategy development to delivery

Excellent project management and organisation skills

Ability to lead and motivate teams

Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills

Interest in politics and/or international affairs (African policy experience desirable but not essential)

Ability to drive client activity
