The Dialogue is the first forum for political dialogue to bring together countries affected by conflict and fragility, development partners, and civil society.

Working alongside the 19 most conflict affected countries including Sierra Leone, DRC, Pakistan and Afghanistan, to rebrand the Dialogue, we developed the central concept and key messages, and oversaw global events for the New Deal over five years in New York, Washington, Nairobi and Stockholm. We successfully increased the recognition of the work of the Dialogue in fostering peace in fragile states amongst world leaders and secured media coverage with the Financial Times, the Guardian and Reuters. Aequitas Global worked with the Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association (GUCDA) and its allies to challenge a wave of misinformation about the second-hand clothing trade.

A narrative from outside the continent portrayed the trade as waste dumping, overlooking the millions who depend on it for livelihoods and affordable clothing.

We supported GUCDA in commissioning independent research and guided strategic communications, empowering those with first-hand experience to deliver evidence-based insights to counter reductive narratives on the global stage.

At Aequitas Global, we’re proud to stand with marginalised communities. Supporting the second-hand clothes trade aligns with our commitment to sustainability and economic dignity.
